Hey everyone,

Almost year to the day from the launch of the new polymer 5 pound note, its big brother the 10 pound note arrives tomorrow! Like the fiver, the new 10 pound note is made of a plastic polymer and is cleaner, will last longer and can even survive a trip through the washing machine! The note will feature the 19th century author Jane Austen, who is most well known for the Pride & Prejudice novel.

Last years fiver caused some upset to the vegan and some religious communities as the polymer contained trace amounts of tallow which comes from animal fat. Unfortunately the 10 pound note will still contain tallow, as will the planned twenty pound note due in 2020.

On the plus side the new notes feature enhanced security features such as micro lettering and holograms and will have raised areas to help the blind and partially sighted slight_smile

After using the new style fivers for a year what do you think of them? Are you a fan or would you like to return to the more traditional notes?

Yes, the slanted writing obscures the username and level name.......too much black, white and grey......I'll work on it.
I've got nothing else to do except bask in 35c of wonderfully warm weather....although it's F1 practice later today !!

No 27°c at nearly 01:00 is not good. That would do me in. I can just about put up with hot days as long as the temperature goes down at night so you can sleep.

But from what you say (and your post times confirm) you sleep during the day and boogie at night !!

If only @Beenherebefore. My boogieing days are long over.

I do sleep during the day but am usually up by 15:00 at the latest. Earlier if I'm meeting friends for a meal and drinks.

The joy of being retired is being able to please yourself - and I do 😉

The best Google can do at this time of year is The Tanning Centre and Time4Tanning in Morecambe then afterwards, if the tides in, you could have a paddle in the bay.....perhaps collect a few shrimps or some cockles for tea.........or both !!
