A bit late to this particular outpouring of greetings but my new year started around 7 hours before the uk and I'm just sober enough to wish everyone the very best for 2015!
Did the firework display and celebrations meet your expectations @jonsie ??
(And at least its 28c there....:smileywink:)

They were crazy loud and colourful but a little disappointing compared to last year in honesty.
It's 29 degrees now but will drop to around 26 degrees throughout the night in an hour or so. Thankfully the air con lives up to expectations

Whilst I am currently basking in the glorious 'warmth' of 10c here in the Midlands....It has started to rain and at 10.47 am it is so dark and dull. I still have the lights on...

Not to put a downer on things, but amongst the new year celebrations there is almost always a tragedy. The one I have read about is the crushing of many people in Shanghai - I read that it happened whilst watching a light show, however numerous other reports have speculated different reasons.
RIP to all of the victims who sadly lost their lives

Isn't it amazing how many animals 'escape' at this time of year?
Just before Christmas seven puppies were found in a basket at the side of the road near here. Luckily they were found and taken to Battersea Old Windsor. It's heartbreaking to think that there will be others who weren't so lucky.
People who do this make me physically sick with rage
