Yes I know it's early but ITV have started to announce the contestants @Mi-Amigo and @sheepdog (and anyone else interested.

I've read that John Barrowman won't be judging this series. No news on who will replace him.

Today we have the first two contestants.

1) Sally Dynevor.

Sally has played Sally Webster on Coronation Street for 35 years. Aged 58. As I watch Corrie she is well known to me (lol)

2) Mark 'Bez' Berry from Happy Mondays

Already my favourite. Just love him. Mad as a box of frogs but apparently taking this seriously.

At least I know these two... I expect the rest will be announced over the next two weeks.

THE FINAL - Sun 27 Mar 2022

Dancing On Ice opened with the finalists skating solo and were joined by the professonal skaters.

Routine would be scored by judges for guidance and only and won`t count - with public vote deciding.

Routine choreographed by Chris and Jane

Regan and Karina = good performance, lots of energy, step sequence was very good, was fun.

Kimberley and Mark = opening reflected Kimberley`s wish to skate with child skater as mirror-image; skated with three professional skaters; looked effortless and beautful skate.

Brendon and Vanessa = solo start; Brendon shared lift of Vanessa with professional skaters; excellent skate, except for very slight stumble.

All four judges each awarded all three finalists a score of 10.

In my opinion, Kimberley gave the best performance in this routine.

Favourite Routine

Kimberley and Mark = tango. Better than previous performance of this routine.

Regan and Katrina = Barnum. Very good routine with some difficult moves.

Brendan and Vanessa = routine with umbrella from props week. Excellent performance.

All four judges each awarded all three finalists a score of 10.

In my opinion, Brendan gave the best performance in this routine.

Skating stars and their partners took to the ice for one last time while public vote counted.

Public vote frozen. Two through to skating Bolera announced

Bolero = Brendan and Vanessa; and Regan and Katrina.

Third place in DOI 2022 = Kimberley.

I was shocked that Kimberley was not going to skate to Bolero.

Bolero Routine

Regan and Katrina = passionate interpretation, with a few new and intricate moves - excellent.

Brendan and Vanessa = very different start to the sequence, with addtional difficult moves - excellent.

In my opinion, Brendan just slightly edged it....

Tourville and Dean skated special routine for the final, then the winner was announced

Winner of Dancing On Ice 2022 - Regan !!!

To be honest, I`m shocked. Sure, Regan put everything he had into his version of Bolero, but, overall in the three skates in the final, he was not, in my opinion, the best skater.

That said, I think this was one of the best DOI we have had with excellent celebrity skaters [with a couple of exceptions - Bev and Sally] and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

What did you think of who was voted the winner; the final; and this year`s DOI @Cleoriff and @sheepdog

So the Final DOI of the year didn't disappoint but did in a way but more on that later.

Schofield in black bow tie and shirt. Should have stuck to the turtle neck as that's what it looked like. Know we know why Holly barely moves in the show. Tonights corset was an inch tighter. No wonder her dress had wings as flapping them was the only she was going to move!

First dances - judges obviously given nothing but 10s and good comments to avoid any favouritism.

Reagan: you were watching a stage show. Really that good that you couldn't tell him apart. Too many camera shots though.

Kimberly: actually preferred this over Reagan's though a totally different style but elegant and oh those leg extensions!

Brendan: wasn't going to be the worst one was he. Fantastic stuff.

First dances I'd say Brendan was the most technically supreme even though with a tiny stumble but I'd say Kimberly was the better of the three here. Oh and why did it take 10+ years of DOI to let T&D choreography a dance FOR the finalists? Mind you, this was probably the best series to get them to do it.

Second dances:

Reagan: found it a touch flat mainly because it was done recently so being critical, didn't really show any progress. I mean its good but would it be enough?

Kimberly: wow, this was originally done in week 4 and it was good then? This time - more leg extensions! - was incredible.

Brendan: as with Reagan, it was a touch disappointing being a recent dance. But still as good as the first time if not with the added spice of being a touch better with the props.

Usual series recap with the forgettable celebs. Shame about Ben who went out in week 1 as it was with Rachel. Yet we had Bez and Sally for weeks on end. Go figure. Also nice touch to recognise the GB Women's Curling Gold medal team.

At this stage and being objective, Reagan was third. But no, the public vote decided Kimberly wasn't going to be in the final skate-off and brutally honest, the public were wrong. However they've filmed their Balero and will be shown on This Morning on Monday. Youtube for the cat video fanatics amongst us.

Onto the Balero. Nothing outstanding by Reagan to be honest then again at this point I'd preferred Kimberly v Brendan. As for Brendan: if that's not a winning routine then being extremely polite, the public voting for Reagan would be wrong. Utterly brilliant and you won't find a better Balero to end any series on than that.

Another routine by T&D to remind the Dan & Karen they're still a bit behind on their choregraphy 😎 But a big round of applause for those two for producing routines week after week.

Naturally the public vote was wrong and Reagan was crowned winner with what looks like a couple of tin cans  fashioned into a trophy. We need a recount here!

Good if not excellent series this year. A couple of fixes - and that's mainly presentation - needed for next year but its going to be difficult to match the quality of these three and the three who didn't make the final.

Well I'm shocked to be honest. Won't repeat what's been said by @Mi-Amigo and @sheepdog.

The first skate, I so wanted Brendan to be the best but a very slight misstep meant that Kimberley edged it for me. I thought Regan's skate was far too manic with too many professionals getting in the way.

The second skate was Brendan all the way. I agreed with Chris and Ashley, it will be remembered as an iconic routine.

The first vote off was damn ridiculous. I knew Kimberley would be voted out as she is unpopular. I belong to two DOI groups on Faceache and most of both groups are females and such catty comments are made about Kimberley every week. I thought the final two should have been Brendan and Kimberley.

The final dance, the Bolero.

Regan tried too hard to copy Jayne and Chris's routine.

Brendan and Vanessa, absolutely superb interpretation. Probably the best I've ever seen. Noticeable that all four judges were on their feet at the end.

So imagine my shock when Regan was voted the winner.

I did enjoy this series, although the wrong person won!
