Yes I know it's early but ITV have started to announce the contestants @Mi-Amigo and @sheepdog (and anyone else interested.

I've read that John Barrowman won't be judging this series. No news on who will replace him.

Today we have the first two contestants.

1) Sally Dynevor.

Sally has played Sally Webster on Coronation Street for 35 years. Aged 58. As I watch Corrie she is well known to me (lol)

2) Mark 'Bez' Berry from Happy Mondays

Already my favourite. Just love him. Mad as a box of frogs but apparently taking this seriously.

At least I know these two... I expect the rest will be announced over the next two weeks.

PROPS WEEK.

Regan and Karina (Baseball bat) A good skate with a rather easy prop I thought. Made full use of the ice and tried some club swinging and lift on the clubs Scored 36

Stef and Andy (Used a Clothes Rack ) I thought this was an excellent skate, jam packed with content. We had a change of dress on the ice. Some difficult side lifts at the end of the clothes rack and then the headbanger This was difficult as they always use the left leg to spin into headbanger but of course this is Stefs artificial leg so that was too risky, so used right leg. |Performed beautifully I thought. Scored 36 (undermarked in my opinion)

Sally and Matt. (Used a chair as I expected) Also used Anthony Cotton from Corrie!!

Too much sitting on chair, too much Anthony Cotton is all I can say about that. Scored 25.5

Kimberley and Mark. (Prop: Length of Silk)

Beautiful skate. Entwined in the silk and lifted by it. Used it as a cape as well. Really made it work. Seems a winner to me. Real performance using all of the ice. Scored 38.5 (Chris gave a 10)

Kye and Tippy (Prop: Desk and attached stool) Great action packed skate. Completed the aeroplane lift, also jumped over Tippy. Going so well until he missed the end move which left the performance unfinished.

Scored 34.5

Connor and Alex. (Props: Two mops and buckets). Also dressed as Cap'n Jack Sparrow so an extra point from me 😂

This started off as the performance of the night so far. Great skating. Looked like a professional. All going brilliantly until he slipped. Carried on with skate a little shaken I thought. Cut his leg. Scored 34.0 (all judges said 'but for the fall'..

Brendan and Vanessa (Props: Two Umbrellas)

There it is. Absolutely beautiful skate. Used the props well. Looked amazing. Deserved all 4 10's

Scored 40.

Next  week the contestants will be skating 'Torville and Dean'. All the iconic skates that T&D have skated throughout their career.  (Paso Doble, Mac and Mabel, et al)

Skate Off.

Kye and Tippy and Sally and Matt.

At Last Sally and Matt are eliminated. Now we have a competition!

Have to say, this was the best show of the series by far and almost all of the skates top class bar one. Even Ashley Banjo wasn't annoying. Schofield finally in a shirt and tie! Holly's dress looked unfinished and too much pink. Oti's routine was all flashing lights and nothingg of her skating! Otherwise it will do 😉

Really want to know what caused this breakdown when doing the pre-results skater talks:

Schofield: "Lets go to Holly..."

Holly (maybe): "No..."

Regan: good skate, no errors but I thought a touch safe. Needed it really but good show and a good level of control. Being first on kind of indicates it wasn't going to be that spectacular.

Stef: This was really really good. Liked it a lot and I would say better than Regan's. Undermarked in my opinion.

Sally: her wig looked good. Next. I can't help thinking perhaps Bez and his maracas would have been more entertaining than having Anthony Cotton as part of the routine.

Kimberly: Finally some excellent skating! Thought a little more swishing of the silk could have been done but technically and performing, worth the marks.

Kye: Sequel to last week's skate! Just as good though does have a tendency to lurch over at times.

Connor: ...but for the fall...again. Loved the bit where he decided that he'll bleed out and get the judges comments before being treated. Awesome 😎 Also, good overall skate destined to be a high score but.... which looked more like Alex's fault than Connor's.

Brendan: and there's the one we've been waiting for. Seemed effortless and elegant. Not so sure about the rain but Vanessa looked quite hot. Next week's theme is right up his street especially if they give him Putting on the Ritz.

Such a shame that Kye was in the dance-off again but its now at a stage where he's likely to be there again next week. No fault of his own as we're down to the best though Connor needs to stay upright or he's gone. If it comes down to being against Stef in the dance-off, its going to be a tough one for the judges.

@sheepdog  Alex did take the blame for Connor's fall. Apparently her hair extensions flicked in his face, caught him off guard and down he went. (I think that's what she was trying to say as she was waving a pigtail about when the judges were talking about the fall) 😂

I love "Props Week" in Dancing On Ice and this one ddn`t disappoint and was the best in the series so far.

As to the skating and skaters

Regan - good performance, no faults and serious competition for Kimberley and Brendon.

Stef - brilliant performance, with good use of prop, dress change, lifts, and first head banger of series, under-marked by the judges in my opinion and shouldn`t be ruled out as contender to go far.

Sally - as @Cleoriff predicted her prop was a chair which she spent more time on than on the ice. Having

Anthony Cotton with her was no doubt at getting Corrie fans to vote to keep her in.

Kimberley - loved her skate with length of silk; one of the best of the night. Only Chris gave her a 10; shame

the other judges didn`t also score her 10. Got to be one of the favourites to win.

Kye - liked the performance; thought Kye lost out as it seemed unfinished. Can`t see him going too far.

Connor - another good performance but again Connor had a slip which all the judges commented on.

If Connor can recover from hs recent falls, might still be a serious contender.

Brendan - loved the skate. I`m not a fan of Brendan and was critical of him last week but admit his was the best skate of the night and deserved the 4 10s from judges.

Skate Off.

Kye and Tippy and Sally and Matt.

Finally Sally was voted off by all four judges.

Looking forward to next week, with so many good skaters now left in the competition.

I like Brendan @Mi-Amigo. Always classed as a naughty boy on SCD because he totally supported his partner. Used to take on the likes of Craig (which was a no no back in the day)

Like James Jordan really, was never a yes man. Was dropped from the show about 6 years ago and was devastated. Arlene Philips never liked him and she was often criticised for her 'nasty' comments.

That's why she gave him a 10 last week. Her one and only chance to say sorry I think.

He was a great dancer and is turning into a super skater.

I have to say that my favourites who are left are Brendan, Kimberley and Connor. (I've gone for Connor over Regan as I think he has the potential to be much better than Regan) If he could just control those falls I think he would have been the second highest scorer.

Thanks @Cleoriff for the info. Having never watched SCD, I didn`t know about Brendan. I accept that he is a very good dancer but feel that there are better skaters in DOI although, as I said, Brendan did a brilliant routine on Sunday.

As you mentioned your favourites left in DOI, mine are Kimberley and Regan - and, as an outside bet if he can overcome the falls, Connor.

ROUTINES FOR 'TORVILLE AND DEAN' WEEK.

The couples are taking on iconic routines from Jayne and Chris' glittering career, including the songs, choreography and costumes...

Brendan and Vanessa: Let's Face The Music and Dance. (by Frank Sinatra.)

Kye and Tippy: At The Hop (By Danny and the Juniors)

Stef and Andy: Mack and Mabel (Donald Pippin & Orchestra)

Connor and Alex: Cecilia (by Simon and Garfunkel)

Kimberley and Mark: Putting On The Ritz (By Robbie Williams)

Regan and Karina: Barnum (By Cy Coleman Orchestra)

All lovely dances. Mack and Mabel is one of my favourites. So sad though that no-one was give the Paso Doble. 😖

Thank you for the info @Cleoriff

I`m looking forward to this - with celebs attempting dance/skate as Torville and Dean routines.

Could be a close call as to who might be in the skate-off; and who tops the leader board.

Yes I'm really looking forward to this week. Seeing those routines again will bring back so many good memories. I hope they all do them justice. Mind you, as routines are less than two minutes, they will miss big chunks out.

Sun 06 March - Torville & Dean Night

Brendan & Vanessa - great routine, smooth performance, headbanger at end

- score 40 [10 from each judge].  I agree with the judge`s vote. My second favourite performance.

Kye & Tippy - fall in rehearsal; good routine, improvement over previous weeks

- score 37 [Ashley + Oli = 9; Jane + Chris = 9.5 . I agree wth Jane and Chris.

Connor & Alexandria - fun routine; no fall; reserved skate due to injuries/stitches

- score 35 [Ashley + Oli = 8.5; Jane + Chris = 9]. I agree wth Ashley and Oli due to restricted routine.

Stef & Andy - performance shown in b&w at start; attempted "train" routine but very short

- score 36.5 [Ashley + Oli = 9.5; Chris = 9; Jane 8.5]. I agree with Jane - not as good as last week.

Kimberley & Mark - tap dance/toe steps on ice; upside down inverted split [according to commentary]

score 40 [10 from each judge]. 100% agree - performance of the night.

Regan & Karina - circus-inspired theme; excellent performance.

score 40 [10 from each judge]. Agree but didn`t think it was quite as good as Brendan or Kimberley.

Skate Off.

Kye and Tippy v Stef and Andy

All four judges voted to save Kye. I agree - better performance in skate-off.

Next week is the sem-final with five excellent skaters - Brendan; Kimberley; Regan; Connor; Kye -

too close to call who will make the final but, personally, I so want Kimberley in the final.
