Hey guys,

Great news from space! The Kepler space telescope has recently come to the end of observing over 200,000 stars in the constellation Cygnus. During it's search Kepler discovered 219 new planet candidates 10 or which are not only earth sized and rocky but are located in side their stars habitable zone, which is the area around a star where liquid water can form. To far out and water freezes, to close to the star and it boils off.

This great find adds to Kepler's already impressive record or planet finding with a grand total of 4034 worlds found to date! With technology improving all the time and the next generation of space telescopes on the way we are bound to see more exciting discoveries in the future. slight_smile

Well in light of widely reported views by Professor Stephen Hawking this has to be a good thing.

Humans will need to colonise another planet within one hundred years to ensure our survival, according to Professor Stephen Hawking.

Interesting. Would you go if they asked you to move to another planet? grin This is probably not happening in a looooong time but still, theoretically, would you like to have such an experience? slight_smile

@jonsie Well if the professor's correct (which I'm sure he is Smiley Very Happy) then we seem to have plenty of options!

I'd 100% visit another planet given the chance slight_smile

As I've always wanted to travel in space - yes I'd move to a new planet. I believe why not experience all you can while you can 😄
