hi there 1st post here so lets go

went off on holiday over a month ago came back reported my iphone volume switch has came out (iphone 3g 8gig) over 12 months old
got the insurace £10 a month

o2 insurace accepeted the claim , but they dont have any phones in stock

this has now been going on for 2 weeks , and got a snoty letter back off them this morning saying tough we dont know when we are gettiing them in stock ya just have to wait (words to that effect)

not happy in the least

i asked for the new 3gs , they said no straight away

i pay all my bills ontime (DD) so thay cant throw that back in my face

any help guys nd no i`m not bothering with the ombudsman (waste of time)

really sorry to hear that you have no phone and they wont even give you the next phone down or a 1 similar eg 3g 16g, (thats bad)

i`m like u been with o2 for about 5 years or so and now after this mess they are going to be losing me no matter what

will send u the email i sent them in a pm

i`ve just had a reply via txt saying we have just sent you a reply (from 80202)
i`ve checked both my o2 and pvt email account and there is no emails from o2

and yes spam bin has been checked

A complete waste of time O2 insurace
just called them up and after some harsh words was said and going around in circles
o2 saying we have to wait for the phone to come from apple , i kept replying they are not making anymore and how long am i expected to wait , which i wasnt given a date

so i said how long 6 months 8 10 u tell me , they wouldnt give e a time scale

i think if we were outside the both of us would have been in eachothers faces by the way it was going on over the phone

good bye O2 you HAVE lost a customer

Been sent a reconditioned unit, not happy, but yeah its in the terms and conditions.

Personally if you want insurance that actually provides a new phone i would personally not opt for taking o2 phone insurance. I am currently in the process of adding my phone to the contents insurance to ensure i have a new phone sent to me if stolen lost or broken and have been quoted much more economically viable premiums.

Beware those terms and conditions people.

Guys, it's now been 10 days since my insurance claim was accepted for my damaged iPhone 3g 8gb. 3 phone calls later & I've just been told that they have been out of stock for 3 weeks and r due a delivery from apple by the end of this week! Just have to wait and c!

Furious J , i would not be happy with a recon phone , as it states on the o2 online insurace site "Guaranteed new replacement Yes"

so i would point it out to o2 that its on there website a new replacement

as for new stocks coming in end of the week i think i will call them when i get the chance

will keep everyone updated when i can

i was also on hold writing the last reply

end of the convo to o2 insurance they have escalated a complaint for me
asked what i would like in view as compen i said either a new 3g or 3gs phone
they said we will review your case and you will hear back from us in 5 working days

(for once talked to someone that listerned and really did appoligise about the full thing)

Sorry you've had a tough time of it! In contrast, I smashed my iphone on friday (an old Iphone 3g) and Im just waiting for the replacement today to come to my office. They gave me the 3gs as a replacement...So its not all bad. Im SURE it depends on the person you get. My lady was LOVELY and couldnt do enough to help.

I suppose it was helped by the fact that i was slightly drunk and was flirting aswell!!

Has anybody complained yet? I am thinking of complaining yet, the only address is postal, so by the time they receive it, it will take far to long. Thank you S Blakey, guess you were the lucky one. They said on the phone they've been waiting for a few weeks for the phones, I'm wondering if this is misselling, as I was told it was next day replacement. It was over the phone and in last 3 years, so I may ask them to get the tape out and check it. Would they do that? How much fuss is it worth kicking up, and does it get you any further?
