iphone 3gs insurance out of stock

has anyone else been having the same problem as myself?
i successfully made a claim 2 weeks ago after losing my white iphone 3gs and was told the phone was out of stock and would be coming back in to stock soon and they would call me within the week.
a week went by without any calls or notifications so i rang them and after being on hold for 30+minutes i was told they were out of stock still and did not know when they were coming in.
i have continued to call them and been told different stories all the time, some people saying there is a shipment arriving from taiwan soon, and some people saying apple are releasing them slowly from america. i dont know who to believe now and they all say the same we dont know when they are going to arrive.
apple has discontinued the iphone 3gs 16gb which is what i had and you can no longer get from them so i dont see why they will be making more handsets and sending them out if they are discontinued.
can anyone give me any advice on what i should do now as it has been over the 14days which in the t&c say they will replace the phone. i have kept to my side of the contract by always paying and they on this case have not.

It has been nearly 5 weeks since I made my insurance claim and I really don't know where to go from here. I'm just not getting any answers from o2 regarding when I will have my new handset. The last time I called o2 insure I was on hold for over 45 minutes before the line went dead. I find it unacceptable that when you call they are so unhelpful and talk as if they are expecting new handsets in stock when these handsets aren't even being made anymore!!!!

I've had all the same problems as you guys.
Told the iphone will be replaced, then out of stock, discontinued then forget the last text etc...
Called many times and have spoke to o2 customer services and then put through to insurance. They can't/didn't tell me anything about the time they would be in stock.
I've been put on hold a stupid amount of times and then they would disconnect the call whilst I was waiting. It's so frustrating as I have been waiting for over a month now and had nothing but hassle. I thought I was paying £15 a month for a service which would be a lot more convenient than the hassle received.

Well I'm Glad i'm not the only one. I broke my Iphone 16gb 3gs Last Tuesday and I phoned to make a claim after 60 mins of being on hold a girl answered the call and informed me that it should be within a week for my new phone I wasn't pleased at this but thought nevermind its just a week. She said i would recieve regular updates by text every 48 hours i said ok. So I recived my 1st text on wednesday informing me they would be in touch. I then had to put my sim in a old phone and didn't recieve another text at all!. I phoned today and was on the phone to about 50 different people at 02. When i spoke to the superviser at 02 insurance he stated that they didnt have a clue when the phones would be in. I stated that this wasn't fair and said basically i could be waiting months for a phone he basically said we do not know. I was informed that i could get a loan iphone from an 02 shop but i said i wasn't told this by the women last week. They basically had no idea what was going on or what was going to happen. I filed a compliant and apparently they should be ringing me back with 48 hours.

Could anyone offer me advice on what to do next.

UPDATE: they have just this second sent me a text saying my phone is out of stock and they thank me for my patience and are sorry for any inconvenience and they will be in touch soon! HA The cheek! still doesnt tell me when i am gonna get me bloomin phone though!!!

😮 my son lost his iphone 3gs on sept 30th and he just keeps getting stupid texes from 02 saying still none avialable , why pay the insurance if they cant bloody replace it ,they should provide a replacement of same or iphone 4 as peaople pay insurance , what a waste of space hes desperate for this as he uses it for work and is borrowing his little brothers mobi . come on 02 get your backside in gear , not a good advert for you is it ???

as i can see im not the only one having massive problems i put my claim in on 02-10-10 so now 18 soon to be 19 days waiting i havent recieved 1 text to say when phone is coming i have spoken to these idiots once or twice a day since claim was made banging my head against a brick wall i find out after nearly 2 weeks i can get a loan phone they told me it would be a nokia 5800 i said this would have to do for the time being it was ordered on 14-10-10 to be delivered monday 18-10-10 i took time off work and guess what it never arrived so phoned ins again for about the 100th time asking where the phone was it wasnt ordered properly appantly brilliant day off work for nothing was re-ordered for wed 20-10-10 phoned them up again on this day to make sure all was ok and had been dispatched to be told the loan phone is out of stock this is getting better and better yet another day off work wasted was then told to get one from 02 store have 4 in my local area phoned them all and guess what youve guessed it out of stock so ive gone 18 days without a phone and nothing is getting resolved and the recondition thing is a joke my t and cs on insurance say old for new and not recon im so bloody angry nobody is helping and sorting this out oh and yes nearly forgot im still paying my contract whilst i have no phone somebody PLEASE help

Hi,
I put in my claim at the beginning of September and have just been getting the same text messages ever since, including the one about 3GS being discontinued.
I have been quietly frustrated but at the same time patient... This morning I got a text saying that an iPhone 4 is being despatched to me (no apology about delay, but I'll let them off).
So my message would be: whilst it's very annoying not having an iPhone for a while and the people on the phone at O2 insure are useless... Just be patient and you'll get your phone. Not sure if people with refurbed 3GS can claim an iPhone 4 though.
