iphone 3gs insurance out of stock

has anyone else been having the same problem as myself?
i successfully made a claim 2 weeks ago after losing my white iphone 3gs and was told the phone was out of stock and would be coming back in to stock soon and they would call me within the week.
a week went by without any calls or notifications so i rang them and after being on hold for 30+minutes i was told they were out of stock still and did not know when they were coming in.
i have continued to call them and been told different stories all the time, some people saying there is a shipment arriving from taiwan soon, and some people saying apple are releasing them slowly from america. i dont know who to believe now and they all say the same we dont know when they are going to arrive.
apple has discontinued the iphone 3gs 16gb which is what i had and you can no longer get from them so i dont see why they will be making more handsets and sending them out if they are discontinued.
can anyone give me any advice on what i should do now as it has been over the 14days which in the t&c say they will replace the phone. i have kept to my side of the contract by always paying and they on this case have not.

Not really a forum poster so sorry about spelling and grammar.
I'm having the same issue as alot of you although not for along as others,I dropped my black 16gb 3GS last weekend and cracked the LCD.I also didn't receive the letter informing me of change of t&c's.I had a 18 month contract with 02 and a nokia n95 8gb before this (although it's a new account rather than a upgrade) which I had replaced 3 times for the £25 excess no problem and a 18 month contract before that with a motorolla krzr before that same thing 2 or 3 replacements no problem.I'm a clumsy person that's why I buy insurance although only lost one of the krzr's years ago so they have always had the phones back. I am due for a upgrade on my 3GS in febuary/march and was looking to carry this call plan and terms on (unlimited data). But with the iPhone 4 micro sim this is another issue.I want a phone now bit don't really know
How to go about resolving this issue

have o2 actually deleted my post?!!!! they want to hear the whole story that everyone has been going through so I more than obliged to help them out!! Keep pestering watchdog and they will get back to you! which is more than I can say for o2 insure!!!

Somebody needs to take control of this situation..... dare I suggest a Solicitor could be the right person?
Nobody can stop the power of a voice, in numbers.
O2's latest choice of insurance underwriter have performed miserably in my opinion, since their inception. It is time they are taken to task.
Personally, I would record all calls with them, of course letting them know you are doing the same in order to comply with the law.

I'm Still waiting it will be 3 weeks tomorrow since my claim.
Although i have been sent a lovely Nokia 5800 to tie my over (how is this a like for like replacement for an iPhone, its crap and it comes with a stylus which i have to use because the screen is so small).
Hows everyone else doing?
What information r you sending to watchdog?

Just send them a message about the hassle of dealing with them and how you are not getting what you paid for and that o2 don't want to know.
I got a call from BBC within 30 mins of my email. Did an interview on the phone already. slight_smile

I revived my replacement White 3GS 16 gb today! Looks brand new but is a refub even tho I made my claim before the 30th September I did try arguing this with them but got no where, so wonder how long till this goes wrong! Have cancelled my insurance but wonder if that was the right thing to do with having a refub?

im going to send a letter off to them 2moro when i get back from work as like you said strength in numbers. can you confirm you had a delivery of an iphone 3gs 16gb white 2day? as i rang earlier and they said they were still out of stock and didnt have a clue about delivery date. furious if i have been fobbed off. is there a number to call watchdog instead of writing a letter as i find it easier explaining on the phone than writing a letter?

Yes I did, I rang last week and was told they expect a delivery Friday rang first thing Friday to check n I had a text Friday afternoon saying my 3GS 16gb black would be delivered Tuesday had to text back to confirm it. And when it turnt up I got a White one which was what I had before.

hi guys got a update from watchdog am being filmed for an interview on monday or tuesday they are in regular contact ad have wared me that o2 will prob try ad cotact me to resolve it i also spoke directly to ACE to a guy call scott jennings who deal with there complaints for 02 insure and he quoed that they know nothing of our compliants and h has taken all my details ad will investigate as he thought everythig was OK!!!!! bring on watchdog gave u enough time and options O2
