My dad bought an iphone from apple directly but dropped it and broke the screen, he never had insurance on it so owes money for it. He now wants to get an iphone with 02 on a contract but is worried apple could block it because of owing them for the one he got from apple. Anyone know if it would be blocked ?

Apple wont find out, its a completely different retailer...
The only problem you might have is if Barclays Finance have issued defaults against your dad if he hasn't kept up payments on the old iPhone..

If the finance had reported the defaults he is not going to get past O2 credit checks.

If fact if he keeps on not paying he is going to trash any chance of getting credit anywhere.

Not paying it is fraud

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
