Security Reasons

I bought a card a couple of weeks ago which has now been blocked by o2 for "security reasons." I spoke to the help chat service yesterday but they could not tell me why and said someone would call within 48 hours. so I am stuck with a useless SIM card having spent good money on it. Does anyone have any idea of how I can speed up o2's response and has anyone any experience of taking successful legal action against 02 for the unilateral withdrawal of the service?

Is it a pre pay or post pay sim you've been using?
o2 make money by having you as an active customer, so they don't cut people off unless they have good reason to.
You may find you get a response/reason for disconnection quicker by calling customer services from another phone.

As above - which is it? If you've legitimately bought it from a shop then there are other factors involved which you may be innocently unaware of or that they've been unable to take a direct debit. The latter meaning that you haven't paid so they have no option but to suspend the number. In that instance you may have had warnings issued via text or email/letter.
If you've bought it off someone and its a pay monthly then you have been robbed. The sim card is property of the network and is only loaned to you (see the T&C's) so anybody selling you a pay monthly one is, well in breach of that condition and quite possibly, about to have legal action started.

I don't think we're getting the full story here, perhaps the OP would care to elaborate a bit.

When normal customer service are not allowed to help and you have to wait for a call, its normally for a serious reason. For example a breach of the terms and conditions, suspected fraud etc. etc.

Seems the OP would not care to elaborate - some may say this tells its own story....

So Samantha would you like to confirm if you are officially on here on behalf of o2. The helpers I believe are o2 employees have an @o2 username, and as you can see from mine anyone can have one like yours. wink
