Hi,
Sunday 5th Oct I'm out all morning and notice I have no network. I get back lunchtime to see 10 emails from O2 saying I've taken out a new sim tariff / swap and the price each month rocketing from £7 to £44+
I log into my O2 to discover £99.73 in Google Play cards pending on my balance. (I use iPhone and have never used Google Pay ever)
I've no network so obviously can't even phone O2 and have to use the slow delayed live chat. The agent on the chat says your account is now locked and can take 72 hours for a fraud team to investigate.
Despite this a further £50.25 in Google cards are bought the next day on the 6th despite my account being 'locked' by the agent
I've cancelled all direct debits with O2 before any charges can be made but reading previous threads on here has me worried. How an earth can something like this happen without any of my consent let alone authorising these payments to Google
I spent an hour and half on the phone using my wifes iPhone given no network. The 0344 number being charged each minute trying to explain the issue and frankly the agents were useless. A new sim card is being sent out to me but the £149.98 charge from the Google Cards remain
The Instagram O2 chat says I have to report the issue to Google but they require a correlation ID which neither O2 nor myself has. I refuse to pay for this and I've lost all faith in O2 for the security of my account given this
I'm now severily stressed if this £149.98 balance will get wiped and have no idea what to do. Hundreds of threads show a similar situation to mine

The exact same thing has just happened to me, noticed a bunch of emails saying I have started a new contract then checked my account to find £150 of google play charges...
o2 said I need to wait until the bill comes through in 2 days before they can investigate...
Have you had any luck @AngryCustomer10 ?
Thanks

That's a lot of money to be taken from your bank account. Don't see how they can you have used Google play which is for android if you have a iPhone?!
