I ordered an iphone 5c yesterday online that was in stock and paid, waited for delivery today which didn't arrive. Contacted 02 who have informed me that item is not in stock and can't guarantee when it will be so advised to cancel which I have but will have to wait up to 7 days for a refund. I can't believe that O2 do not seem to have a live stock system and was wondering if anybody else gas gad the same problem

Many have the same problem. Do a quick search of the forum.

Thanks for your reply. I think it's really poor that this happens and if is doing so often they are getting quite a lot of interest on the money that they are keeping hold if

Hi @Nicrae72 and welcome to the forum

Sorry to hear of this sad story but it is all too common recently. During the iPhone launch way back in September people have been ordering phones showing as in stock only to find they never were. Completely shoddy immoral practice but one that O2 continues to get away with.

Even worse when they take your money immediately...then take 5 days to refund...

You have hit the nail on the head with that comment. As I say totally immoral business practice...

Once you do get your refund, if you still want to get that particular phone you might want to look elsewhere, as there's a good possibility that O2 won't restock it.

Then they're even more in the wrong for continuing to advertise it for sale!

Agree Mel...but sadly this practice goes on and on.... Its as if they deliberately stop the website updating with correct stock levels. I suppose because they would then lose buyers to other companies

Hi

You could contact your most local o2 shop to check on stocking levels and perform the upgrade their once the refund has completed.

Or check with independents such as CPW if not having a Refresh Tariff is not a deal breaker to you as they only offer a 24 month o2 contract.

You can also upgrade to a new iPhone in an Apple Shop if you have one local, again for a standard 24 month contract. The iPhone 5c 8Gb is still available on their homepage.

Again you could ring either Carphone Warehouse or Apple to check stocking levels and ask what memory capacities they have left available.

Good luck and perhaps let us know how you fair.

We have seen this so many times  now that it would appear to be the norm rather than the exception. Do o2 actually carry any stock these days?
