After two and a half years on Home Broadband Premium @ speeds of 11Mb plus download and 1Mb upload problems started last week.
The router started dropping out and re syncing up to 900 times, 2nd line tech said it was a record for him!
Anyway they did a 24Hrs line test and have sent me a new router,
I'd already tried two routers, A O2 Mk2 and a Netgear DG834GT same results :womanindifferent:
I plug in the new router this morning and low and behold all is well in the world but at 8.5Mb and 0.9Mb,
2nd line tech have told me there is nothing wrong with the line!!!!!
I have the distinct feeling after 2.5 years with O2 Broadband I'm being rolled over and fed ****, Smiley Mad
I'm thinking of pulling the plug on em en-mass but have a telephone line contract till September (£51 to quit)
and 3 Mobile contracts that run out in July...(£???)
Anybody else had a similar experience?

It sounds like a temporary line or exchange fault.

Well O2 2nd line tech are adamant that there is nowt wrong with line or exchange,
really iffy after 2.5 years at over 11Mb download.

It could be a temp exchange fault or it could be a fault with your adsl filter, worth changing that tbh, and also a good idea to unplug all the rest whilst you test your router, best to test it at the master socket (if you have a laptop try using the wireless, it will prove the socket/filter at least).
You could have some internal wiring issues, but the above will prove the filter/line, and is there any noise on the line when making calls etc?

Thank you for the reply Tony,
At the moment I have a ADSL Nation front plate for my telephone and dsl connections.

The 2nd line tech got me to use the brand new, never used filters and cables that came from O2,
no change, the router was still re-syncing and continued to do so till they dropped the line speed.

My wife also borrowed a hard wired phone from work as we only have radio phones,
no problem there either, line clear as a bell, no extensions for Sky etc in the household.
What really gets me is that as soon as I plug in the new O2 MKIV router all is well
according to the tech but at a much reduced speed,
The previous 2nd line tech told me there had to be a fault on the line somewhere but not at my house!!!

Those are the stats that show the problem.
SNRM : looks like a Target 12dB has been set rather than the default 6dB, that would account for the reduced sync.
Errors : in total but in particular the remote Error Seconds usually indicate a fault in the exchange equipment....O2's problem.
Your attenuation of 39.5dB should get you a sync of around 10,000kbps. Mine is 38dB and is syncing currently at 9923kbps

Have you used the test socket....if you have one that is....inside the main BT linebox ?
If the main socket has a horizontally split faceplate, the lower half of which unscrews then remove it and plug just the router, no phone, into the test socket inside then take the stats again.
One other thought before you do that, you're not using a plug-in telephone extension cable anywhere in the house are you ?
Edit....sorry just noticed you use ADSLNation faceplate but the same applies, remove it and plug into the test socket. Even their products can go faulty.
