Can anybody help? I have the new ultra  two and a series 10 Apple Watch purchased from O2. I purchased the data plan for the watches, but I just cannot text once I’m away from the phone. It will not work. After contacting O2 multiple times so many people are saying no you can’t text at all because the data plan doesn’t do it and the other half says yes you can so I’m stuck because a lot of the misleading information does anybody have an ultra 2  to or a series 10 on an O2 data plan that they can send text  when they’re not with their phone

Thank you, @madasaf1sh.

The question is, then, why O2 have issued a letter of deadlock stating “It is impossible for you to text on an Apple Watch with the O2 data plan unless your phone is  with you everywhere you go” when clearly the FAQ, and (indirectly, perhaps we need to make this clearer in the Guide, @Dave-O2?) Activate Apple Watch Guide contradict the statement above?

Possibly Call Center staff who have come from the VM side of the house, yes - but that should no longer be the message given by the Call Center teams in light of the FAQ and the Forum Guide.

Meantime, @Kev975 - it seems like you have all you require to proceed with your case, and good luck with the refund/settlement.

Hi thanks I appreciate you’re not having a dig at me. I’m  been on since august last year they’ve put in writing and recorded phone calls that you cannot text and they’ve made it very clear now they told me if I want my £6000 back I’ve have  sell them to a third-party or get a solicitor I cannot believe the attitude and they’re telling me that everybody who buys a A watch from O2 is in the shop that you cannot text unless your phone with your phone is with you and the watch all the time it’s just actually madness

Yes, the Ombudsman quoted that in my case what you’ve wrote there basically worth the word off their website and they just came back saying I’m wrong that every staff member in the store will tell you before you purchase your watch that you cannot send SMS. It’s just it’s just nuts. Then I have the I believe it’s called the back team called me who say the only deal with Apple watches told me exactly the same if I’m not happy sell the watches to a third-party and get myself a solicitor  Just crazy it is

 I got them to check and they said there is only one watch plan that they do and that is it simple as that O2 was saying that you can’t text Apple is saying that you can every other  network Vodafone everybody else seems to be able to text but O2 are saying no and you know it when you purchased the watch as they claim the staff tell you. as I’ve explained on here to other people it’s just crazy I was in the O2 shop this morning to show me what was written and listen to the phone call and they were stunned. They’ve got watches on their wrist that they text all day but O2 put it in writing and said no you can’t.

@Kev975

Just to update my watch has stopped working when away from the iPhone, no matter what I try and it seems that o2 dont have a clue about how to fix this, and thinking about cancelling the sync plan or asking for a refund as they are not providing the service I am paying for.

Thanks for the update. I know how you feel as this has been happening for me  since August last year. I don’t understand what’s going on with O2. I’ve been with them  for 25 years now and I’ve always praised the Customer Service but this last year it’s just been insane.  They told me I can’t get the £6000 back for the watches even though they’re under warranty they told me to sell to  a third-party which is crazy or get myself a solicitor. So I’m actually thinking of going to the press as it just doesn’t make any sense the shop selling  say you don’t need phone with you  when they sell them technical I’ve got recorded phone calls to tell me that it should Txt when away from the phone. It even says it on the website but Customer Services or or head office are saying no never have never will. So trust me, I know how you feel it’s crazy spend all this money doesn’t work and they don’t wanna know. Fingers crossed you get it sorted but with respect I won’t hold my breath when I’ve been trying since August.
