iPhone 5s charging problem

Can anyone advise please. My daughters iPhone 5s won't charge or turn on. It just comes up with the charging sign but will not charge to turn on.

Press the top button and home button together until the apple logo appears and let go of both and the iPhone should reset.

I've tried that and the apple logo doesn't appear just the charging sign.

Also if the phone is on very low charge it can take a few minutes to start charging so leave it a while.

Also try another charging cord and plug if available.

Make sure no lint or dust is in the lightening port.

I've tried all of the above with no luck. The phone has been on charge for over an hour have tried 3 different cables and there is no dust in the charging port.

Thank you for all of this. There must be something wrong with the phone as it's not recognising that it has the charger in it and the charger is working as I've tested it on mine. But when you are plugging in the charger it comes up with the battery sign and the cable sign. Indicating it needs plugging in but it's already plugged in.

Maybe a damaged, dirty or faulty charging port....?
