I am in New York and registered for 02 travel but I cannot make calls to the UK on my iPhone 6. I get a message saying “the international call you are attempting to make is not allowed from this line. “ Do I need to change my settings. I was able to call the UK when I first arrived here.

@AHD try manually selecting a different network as it may be a local network issue, otherwise, try live chat to make sure there are no blocks on your account.

@AHDYou probably need to change your settings to "mobile.o2.co.uk" and see if that works

@AHD Do you have the +44 prefix for each number you're calling on your contacts list? You also have to leave off the first 0 (zero) of the UK number.

Have just found out that my line was blocked for overseas calls. Did not realise one has to ask for it to be lifted if one enrolls for 02 travel. Thought it would be automatic.

It does happen hence my suggestion to check it above.

Glad to hear you found the answer @AHD. Also, as I said, if you've manually entered someone's number in your contact list, it may not have the +44 prefix, so check that too before you try to call.

As an aside, you could also save some of your allowance by using Facetime to your other iPhone friends, and WhatsApp for your Android friends over WiFi. Enjoy the Dog Days of NY:smileywink:

@AHD if you turn on dial assist in your settings, there's no need to change any of your contacts phone numbers.
Settings >Phone >Dial Assist
