Hi there hopefully someone can help my iphone 3gs i gave to my son as i had upgraded to 4s he used the phone more as an ipod rather than phone he gained more privilage as we got a new sim as old one had stopped working due to lack of use has worked great no worries until today when it now shows no service this phone is only o2 never jail broke original state i have looked up google and tried all things that have been suggested hoping there may be something i have missed :
the phone is 32g
i have tried home key and power off at same time
i have tried restoring via itunes
i have tried turning off 3g
i have tried switching off automatic carriers (o2 not showing now as an option) only voda or uk
i have tried the airplane mode to reset networks
i have tried reset network setting
please help

Have you tried another O2 SIM card in it ?
You could ring O2 on 4445 to ensure the PAYG account is ok.
Ensure the sim tray is clean and free of dust/lint.
You could arrange an appointment at your most local Apple Store Genius Bar. It's out of warranty but I've known a genius to still take a look at no charge.
