suspected phone con

I have just been biled by 02 for allegedly making a phone call to tel no 08712770709. for at least 2 hours 53 minutes and was charged £35.00. From what I remember I never made a phone call to this number. Is  there somebody who has had a similar experience? I have just looked in google and it appears some people have had this problem. Please if anybody in the community has had this problem do share with me because I suspect there is a con.

Having briefly read over this, quickest and easiest way to check if a call was actually made...Your call log/history on your actual device...Surely this will either be on there or not to prove if call made?! If O2 are conducting an investigation they'll simply get the raw data from the SIM card regsitered, and if call shows - the charge will stand.

out of intrest .. i know you said you did not make a call to them but what about if they made a call to you?

is it possible they called you and you had to pick an option like press 1 to spekto someone? and by pressing 1 it then charged you for the call to them ?

i know this is possible because ive had numbers calling me saying you have won this or toclaim this press 1 to speak to someone to claim or press 9 to opt out or press 0 to be removed from our list ( where any option you pick then connects you to them and costing you money.
