suspected phone con

I have just been biled by 02 for allegedly making a phone call to tel no 08712770709. for at least 2 hours 53 minutes and was charged £35.00. From what I remember I never made a phone call to this number. Is  there somebody who has had a similar experience? I have just looked in google and it appears some people have had this problem. Please if anybody in the community has had this problem do share with me because I suspect there is a con.

There is no way they can bill you for a call that didn't exist.

I can recall also that on Friday last when this alleged phone call was made off peak I was actaully travelling on the train with a lot of possible signal failures because whn I reached my bgirlfriend's home she complained that she tried to phone me several times but as I was underground she could not get me. I had my phone with me and never actaully phoned this number. I have also seen on google subsequent to postingb this complain asnd it appears I am not in isolation with this kind of problem.

Just out of interest has anybody else in the community had any problems withn this number? Please if you are there come out and share your experience. As I said up there, I saw on google and it appears there have been many complaints regarding this number. I would at least hope somebody in the 02 community could have a similar experience.

Or, was she not able to get through because you were already connected to a call?

It could be possible you dialled the number by mistake if browsing their site and tapped on the number, pressed the back button locked screen without even knowing the call was active. If like most businesses they have an automated system it would just sit waiting for an input for the time mentioned. Upon losing signal in a tunnel the call would disconnect

Thanks for your suggestions but unfortunately I am very aware of what happened and it is nothing near to what you suggest. I communicated with EDreams by email on my computer desk top which has not got a telephone link so I could not have pushed any button on that computer bey mistake so as to connect to a telephone link. The journey  between my home and my girlfriend's place takes maximum 30mins. However the phone call is alleged to have taken 3hrs 53 mins. I also know as a fact that once in the underground train from Greenwich to West Hampsteadf the signal gets interrupted and I can never get one until I reach Finchley Road which is one stop before West Hampstead on the Jubilee line. I recall that as soon as I got to her place my girlfriend alerted me and I checked the phone which indeed had logged in her number and also a text to confirm that she had tried to phone me but failed to get through. How magically this translates to 2 hors and 53 mins. still beats me. Also how the buttons on a desktop keyboards jumpds to accidentally touch a mobile phone button also is a new one. However you have made me learn something new today with your response Kudo.

Just another thought Kudos, if indeed the signal loss would disconnect the telephone then why would there be a register of 2hrs 53 mins as reported time of continuous phone call without interruption as detailled in the bill?
