I have purchased a new phone from the o2 shop, but it will not connect to 02 . After speaking to live chat , on and off for 3 days, they tell me the phone is stolen and barred, this is impossible. What do i do now?

Are you dealing with Live Chat about this? If so, you need to actually speak to someone. If you have an old phone, put your sim in it and call 202 if Pay Monthly, or 4445 if Pay & Go. Alternatively, if you have access to a landline you can try calling on 0800 587 4005. I'm not entirely sure if that number works, but it's worth a try.
I looked at the eBay store and it does look bona fide. 100% positive feedback, so I don't think they sold you a bad phone.

best option, wait for eBay to get back to you.
if the case rules in your favour, get your money back and buy the phone from a genuine shop like O2 or CPW

This seller is a propper o2 franchise operation if you search the company name I am sure they will resolve this.

Hi, my experience with Ebay is that seller usualy answer on any complain within 24 hours. So you did not have to open the case. Also if they are the franchise try to call them straight in their office. As MI5 says 24 switch off wont help it sounds funny, someone just tried to hold you back.

Hi diane01.
Just to be clear - did O2 say that the phone blocked/barred or not?
Have you asked O2 to check that everything is ok on your account?
Has the seller responded on eBay?

In the OP's first message it states that she was told by someone from O2 live chat told her that the phone is stolen/barred.

I know adriannadavey but further down the OP says that O2 are now saying that it is not blocked/barred so I am just trying to get clarification from the OP.
OP said:
"I have spoke to o2 again this morning, and now they are saying the phone is not stolen/barred its something to do with GPRS settings."

Live chat can be unreliable at times, which seems to be the case.
