emails have disappeared

Earlier today I contacted 02 re a problem with emails not syncing. To cut a very long story short I was put thru to Samsung who eventually had to gain remote access to my phone to check everything.Despite me asking him not to remove my sky email account form my phone he said that was the only way to fix the problem.

I have logged on to my email account via my laptop tonight and all old email messages have disappeared....some that I had yet to respond to.

Sky say that if the email account was removed from my phone then older emails are automatically removed despite what device you use to access them......please help...thanks

I'm not sure how deleting the app from the phone would remove the emails from the Sky servers. Samsung must have deleted the emails. If I delete an email client all the emails are still there when I install another app.

It would depend on how the email account was set up

If set as imap you wouldn’t lose anything.
I suggest you reinstall the account using the imap server settings off the sky website.

Thanks for your response -much appreciated.

Sky have suggested I contact Yahoo & Samsung which I will do tomoro a.m. but can't see what they can do....

Samsung def only deleted the email app...there are emails showing for up to the 15th Sept...Its a lesson to me to deal with emails more promptly or move them to a folder in future to sort out!!

Thanks for responding-much appreciated.

Think it was set up as a pop3 server -pop.tools.sky.com... & I noticed under the port it states "delete emails from server" - Never.....

Sky have told me to contact yahoo & Samsung which I will do tomoro but I dont hold out much hope

Lesson learned to either deal with emails as they arrive or move to a folder to sort out later!
