Unlocking factory reset phone to use with TalkTalk SIM (uses O2 network)

I have an old Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 that I had to do a factory reset on. It was an O2 phone but its pay-monthly no is transferred to my new phone. I have a TalkTalk pay-monthly SIM on a different no that I wish to use in the old phone, but it asks me for the "network lock control key".  TalkTalk uses the O2 network.

I am absolutely tearing my hair out with the online "help", chatbot, and with the phone options on 0344 809 0202, none of which deal with this situation, or which are unclear about what is meant by an "O2 phone". The person in the O2 physical shop said I would have to call but I cannot get through to a person at all, let alone one who can help.

I found that form confusing for the reasons I stated (same network, different provider) BUT luckily MyO2 had not updated the phone so it was still listed and I could just request an unlock code which worked, so sorted due to O2 inefficiency!

Thanks
