Hi
I have a Hauwei p20 handset. I switched to O2 from EE last week and ported my number. When I send a text, the temporary number from O2 is showing rather than my ported number. I'm guessing I need to change a setting, but I'm not sure where to do this. Can anyone help? Thanks, Laura.

@Laura50

You can change it yourself in My O2. If the temporary number is showing and there is a pencil icon next to it you can change via that route.

Keep rebooting your phone.

If that doesn't help, then you need to contact O2.

Download Google messages.

When you set it up it will activate on the number attached to the SIM card.

This will confirm if your port was successful or not.

There is no way for you to actually change your number so it maybe an incomplete or split port.

Thanks for your help. It's my ported number that's showing on My 02, but texts are still saying they are coming from the temporary number associated with the O2 sim. I'll check the links you sent, keep rebooting and will call 02 if it's not resolved in the next few day. Cheers.

It's Google messages that's already on the phone. I found an advanced setting that said number unknown, so I put in my actual number and saved it, but its still showing the temp number when I text.... Argggh!

Try rebooting the phone now.

Are you receiving texts to the correct number?

Rebooted again, still says text are coming from my temp number. I'm receiving texts if sent to my temp number or my actual number. I using my work phone to test it. Still annoying that people are seeing my temp number when I text. I'll keep rebooting.

Sounds like a split port.

I'd call customer service to check Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
