You can change it yourself in My O2. If the temporary number is showing and there is a pencil icon next to it you can change via that route.
Keep rebooting your phone.
If that doesn't help, then you need to contact O2.

Download Google messages.
When you set it up it will activate on the number attached to the SIM card.
This will confirm if your port was successful or not.
There is no way for you to actually change your number so it maybe an incomplete or split port.

Sounds like a split port.
