Samsung has confirmed the Jelly Bean update is now available.

As you might have noticed, this hasn't gone live yet. We were expecting it to on Friday and are working with Samsung to figure out what went wrong and will update ASAP.

Hey Guys,

Good news! The wait time is almost over for Samsung Galaxy SIII users. From tomorrow, 19th October '12, you'll be be able to upgrade to the much awaited 4.1 Jelly Bean update over Wi-Fi or via Kies.

If you have activated the 'auto-update' feature from out of box, you will be prompted to download the 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

I don't have a working computer at the moment, so I'm hoping for an OTA update.

My CSC is: I9300O2UBLF3

I have tried the update menu, but I'm assuming it is busy as I keep getting the "Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try later." message. I'll try again when I get home from work.

For those with O2U in their CSC (type into you fone dialer... *#1234# to bring it up)

If ur not connecting on kies or OTA it will just be the sheer number of others going the same. So be patient

Why not my phone was bought with an o2 contract from Phones 4 U so why have I been mis-sold?

I got my S3 direct from O2 online (ordered just before release). However, I have never had the O2 bubbles startup/shutdown screen or, thankfully, any associated bloatware. My CSC is  l9300OXABLG8. 

Given the above, any ideas why I would not be included in an O2 update (or indeed, do not have what other O2 customers seem to have)? Does this mean that Samsung and not O2  will update my phone at some point? Surely, it's O2's responsibility as it provided the phone directly to me?

bought from phones4u - no 02 bubbles when switching on - have I got an unloacked phone or something? I thought i had an 02 phone?

Sue time whatever reason time had an O2 version phone and some an UNLOCKED fone.

Fones locked to O2 will be updating today.

Fone unlocked with an O2 SIM will get an update soon but direct from Samsung.

The reason some r unlocked is prob JUST to do with supply sorce. Plus companies like phones4u and CPW keep unlocked fones so they don't have a large pile of O2 orange 3 t-mobile etc handsets, but a couple of fones avail to whatever network u want to use. Thus keeping down supplies.
