Update 22/10, 8:00:

Samsung has confirmed the Jelly Bean update is now available.

Update 20/10:

As you might have noticed, this hasn't gone live yet. We were expecting it to on Friday and are working with Samsung to figure out what went wrong and will update ASAP.

Original message:

Hey Guys,

Good news! The wait time is almost over for Samsung Galaxy SIII users. From tomorrow, 19th October '12, you'll be be able to upgrade to the much awaited 4.1 Jelly Bean update over Wi-Fi or via Kies.

If you have activated the 'auto-update' feature from out of box, you will be prompted to download the 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

JB

I had no problem with ios6 apart from the change in maps personally and its just a personal view so you shouldn't feel you have to justify android as i am at least open minded as to try different tech obviously some are not as open mindedheart

As an ex Iphone user (owned an Iphone 4 for just over two years) I think I can safely say that Android software has advanced at a much faster rate than IOS, true IOS was more polished to begin with but Android has caught up and is now overtaking.

Apple have really got to make some advances with their next version of IOS if the want to truly compete in the future smartphone market.

Actually I've found ICS to be quite stable and Jelly bean with it's added goodness it's certainly worth waiting for!

Stock ICS is very stable, but problems can occur with apps. Apple control what apps are available so users can download with the knowledge that they will work OK. Google don't do this (open source is THE point of andriod), so consequently some apps cause conflicts until user feedback is received and problems solved. Android is a community of developers, whereas Apple is Apple..... Neither is right or wrong.... just different.
