Update 22/10, 8:00:

Samsung has confirmed the Jelly Bean update is now available.

 

Update 20/10:

As you might have noticed, this hasn't gone live yet. We were expecting it to on Friday and are working with Samsung to figure out what went wrong and will update ASAP.

Hey Guys,

 

Good news! The wait time is almost over for Samsung Galaxy SIII users. From tomorrow, 19th October '12, you'll be be able to upgrade to the much awaited 4.1 Jelly Bean update over Wi-Fi or via Kies.

 

If you have activated the 'auto-update' feature from out of box, you will be prompted to download the 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

Hi guys,

It's still the 19th, so I'm not sure why you feel you're being lied to. I'm assuming it'll be available today and just to be sure, I'm trying to get you the latest information on it.

You all need to calm down, just because your phone hasn't received the update yet, it doesn't mean that other S3 users haven't, just imagine how many S3 O2 phones are out in the field so it will trickle down to yours sooner or later and anyway, there is still 11 hours left of the 19th so stop behaving like children and get some perspective.

And the reason we feel lied to is because of the inconsistency of information which is being given out by the support teams. Transcript of the chat I just had, the people on the phone seem to be saying the same thing too.

Whenever a new software is launched by the manufacturers, we investigate and make sure that there is no issues in it which may affect the phone. Once it's done, it's shared for all our customers on our website. As of now, the investigation isn't done, so you'll have to wait for a few weeks until it's launched by us. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. slight_smile
