Samsung Galaxy Gear S

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am very tempted to invest in the Samsung Galaxy Gear S smartwatch. My main reason for this is really for when i go out on call. I will not have to worry about losing my phone as that can be left at home as i will be wearing my smartwatch which can have calls to me forwarded to my smart watch as would text messages etc.

What i would like to know is this, does it have a stopwatch/timer facility. This is important for me as if i need to perform CPR whilst on call i can monitor my compressions against the time on the clock.

It just seems to me a wonderful addition to my call out bag/items that i have on standby should the need arise. slight_smile

I thought i would give a quick update after my first day or so with my Gear S! I have it all set up the way i want it, and have discovered how to download my wallpaper so that i now have a family picture on it in the background as my watch wallpaper. I have also downloaded some apps to it in additional to the Samsung gear apps. These are the Finanical Times, Easily Do, Travel Translator and Navigator. Oh and Opera Mini.

Thus far my favourite app on it is the S Health. I am now able to see how long i sleep for and how often i move in the night not knowing when i do so. Also if i am at work and have to leave my handbag in my personal drawer my watch can measure my steps! slight_smile And of course i can also covertly quickly check my emails and sms messages too! LOL

I have still yet to work out how to get my own ringtone on it. I want to be playful and have something like Dick Tracey sound on it or Star Trek (Hailing Frequencies Open or that communicator sound on it!) But all in all i am very happy with it thus far! grin

Absolutely!! Cheers It is the envy of everyone in my office. They have never seen a smartwatch before and some of them really fancy it! Even my cat has given her approval with giving it a good sniff and head butting! slight_smile

A great write up @Anonymous

As one of the Android army, would you be willing to further update as you get more familiar with it?
