Firmware

I have an S7 bought from Carphone Warehouse. Due to it not having O2 firmware I cannot get WiFi or 4g calling to work as the option is not there in the device settings.
If I flashed the device with O2 firmware from Sammobile would it work?

Cheers

If it’s the same then you are ok to flash it.
Do you know how to?

Hello guys,

Due to the complexities and potential for causing irreversible damage to your device, we do not allow open discussions of flashing firmware onto devices as this can void your warranty, cause software issues & conflicts, and in some cases could render your device useless. O2 are unable to provide support in any of these cases we’re afraid and we, therefore, don’t allow these discussions on the O2 community.

Thanks for understanding thumbsup

Well that's a first !
Especially considering my guide has been on here for years and viewed by millions.

Just one point..

"Due to the complexities and potential for causing irreversible damage to your device, we do not allow open discussions of flashing firmware onto devices as this can void your warranty"

This isn't true, the bootloader is a protected system and the guide references official firmwares, you can only flash the firmware for your model and bootloader remains locked and present.
Absolute worst case scenario is that you have to flash twice.

No point arguing it mate.
Decision has been made by a higher authority.
It would have been nice to of been given the opportunity to save the guide before it was obliterated though!
This is no longer a "community" forum I'm afraid......

So the guide has been deleted then?

Any clues as to when?

Google cached page worth looking for?
