02 Wont fix LG Even Though Its Their Fault

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have had this phone for around 1 year and it has never really been right

It rejects the sim card and also cuts signal

Took it into the local 02 shop in the trafford centre and they stated it was a common problem with this phone and they have now stop supply it (unless requested) due to it being a bad phone

This morning got an email stating they wont fix it as it is not covered with the warranty

This phone cost £500 and I am paying over £45 a month,

I have been a loyal o2 customer for over 7 years

I have been trying to call the number all morning to see why it is not covered by the warranty and no one is answering

Well o2 I think my 7 years loyalty is now over, I am going ot lok at going with someone else

Thnaks for nothing

Just ask them to return the phone and make sure it is in the same condition as you sent it. Favourite reason from Anovo is water damge. Send it off to LG and let them look at it.

It is well documented that they make up fictitious faults to circumvent warranty and force customers into paying for repairs.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks for your replies

We have emailed them and asked them for the engineer report and stated we cannot get through

This is silly

I am cancelling our contract with o2 as soon as I get the phone sorted out

Terrible customer service when you cannot even get through to them

Unfortunately @Anonymous this is far from an isolated incident, and I very much doubt the situation will improve in the short term, with the very real prospect of O2 being taken over, and the associated risk of redundancies etc.

Could the last person to leave O2 please turn out the light....

Almost makes you believe that there's a secret plot in order to make you purchase a phone insurance slight_smile I mean, the insurance (in theory anyway) covers you pretty much from any type of loss/damage, your fault or not. Meanwhile, getting your phone repaired under the warranty is almost always resulting in "sorry sir/madam, but the fault has developed due to the water damage/you dancing on the phone/the alien invasion, and the warranty does not cover that".

Or is it the similar pattern with making a phone insurance claim as well? slight_smile

If there is the slightest way out of paying a genuine claim no doubt the insurance company will find it....

Are there no LG repair centres? I had a problem with my S5 camera displaying blue dead pixels. Instead of taking it to o2 to be repaired, I took it to the Samsung repair centre in Manchester and it was fixed under its warranty.

I have just googled this for LG repairs. The drop down box does show UK cities...
