o2 have just released apple watch and apple watch support in Germany. Spoke to o2 UK CS tonight and they advised it is currently in final stages of network testing in the UK. Hopefully Q1 2019 and we'll finally get it here.

Still no official news that this (eSim) is actually coming to O2, I cannot trust the so-called words from a chat representative, and personally, I am not 100% sure we will see this in H1 of 2019.

I feel O2 have lost a lot of what I thought they stood for when I was with them (original iPhone days) I rejoined O2 a year ago and have been a little disappointed with the speeds of the 4G network and lack of support for the AppleWatch.

I have just unlocked my iPhone XS and ordered a 12m SIM only contract (eSim) with another provider (60gb for £30 p/m) I will add the Watch to this plan.

I am looking forward to being able to use the watch to its full potential when I am out of range / do not have my iPhone around for whatever reason.

Hopefully the dual sim / notifications will not prove to be troublesome with the watch receiving notifications from both lines. 1 line will not receive iMessage notifications as far as I understand it due to only one data connection being active (can choose this in settings) Green bubbles on one line it is then.

Hi all,

Been following all will they won’t they about the apple watch, my personal thoughts are O2 will eventually stock it, I remember years ago o2 telling me they would never offer the ipad, but eventually did and Vodafone users where all probably saying the same thing not too long ago ... and then hey presto ,started to stock it.

Anyway my question, I have the opportunity to buy a nearly new cellular Apple watch 4 from a family member, used briefly on Vodafone, if / when O2 ever go live with eSim or the Apple watch, would I be able to use this one on O2? does anyone now is the watch carrier locked?

Cheers for any answers.

I asked in a Vodafone shop a little while ago as I was considering getting one. They said it isn't locked. However if your family member is with Vodafone still, they could request an unlock for free if it's still locked.
