We're pleased to confirm Apple’s latest products, the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max have now launched and are available to purchase from today, Friday 21 September. Customers will be able to pre-order the iPhone XR beginning Friday 19 October, and launching on Friday 26 October.

I’m getting my first Apple Watch  it have o2. Does this mean that I can’t use the Apple Watch with o2? Or is it that I can’t use the cellular Apple Watch but can use the gps only version. Sorry but new to Apple watches.

It means you can't leave your phone at home and takes calls on your watch which is something no one ever does anyway 'cause you look a right wally, but everything else works perfectly well.

I’m also new to buying the cellular series 4 watch. Based upon what you said above. Am I just better going for the non cellular version?

If you intend to stay with O2 there's no benefit in buying the cellular version.

As long as your phone is nearby you'll get calls and texts and any other notifications you choose. The esim functionality is designed to allow the watch to be used when not in close proximity to your phone, that's all.

I've posted an update on the original Q&A's on Page 1 of this thread but for anyone interested who hasn't seen it... Great news!

The iPhone XS is now available on O2 Open and Student Discount. The iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR are not yet available on O2 Open or Student Discount. We'll let you know when that changes.
