Hi Guys

I got a letter from Sky today about me leaving. It was far from the polite communication we are used to from O2. basically if I don't get in touch in the next few days they will cut off my Homephone, This is before the transfer date which is next Thursday 23/5/2013. If this is the case what else is in store from them?

My broadband connection was chopped yesterday by O2 / Sky without any communication to let me know. I have now set up my new connection with EE (who were very helpful) and I have to say the Brightbox router, supplied by Orange, is very fast. I am happy!

The Yahoo! Mail service does not have IMAP so pretty useless for me. (Also why I can't use Outlook.com mail.)

Yahoo has IMAP: http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&y=PROD_MAIL_MOBILE&locale=en_US&id=SLN3361

It says "mobile devices" but it works on all.

Adblock Plus has a system which allows "non annoying" advertising, i.e. it allows static text-ads but not the flashing banners that wobble.

Good idea I think, since it might get distracting banner advertisers to alter their ways, and responsible advertising is ok IMHO since free sites do need a bit of money.

Hi guys just thought you may be interested to know that OFT has cleared the Sky Acquisition of BE Unlimited and O2 broadband and telephone landline. Here is the link to the decision http://www.oft.gov.uk/OFTwork/mergers/decisions/2013/bskyb#.UZUm6zxwbmI . The full text isn't there yet but should be soon. The main thing is that it is cleared which means everything gets migrated in the Autumn if not sooner.

The move across should start in about the autumn and take up to a year to complete.
