Transfer O2 SIM to my daughter

I've recently taken out a VM Ultimate Volt bundle, with an 02 SIM.  Both myself and my wife are in contract with EE so have no use for this SIM but my daughter, who is already with O2 and out of contract shortly could use it but she lives at a different address.  Is there anyway I can transfer the SIM to her?

I'm still in the 14 day cooling off period and haven't activated the SIM.

As an aside, if I can't transfer the SIM to her because she lives elsewhere, is there any reason not to cancel the O2 contract?  The only downside I can see is that I wouldn't get the 'free' wifi pods.

If for some reason I need to keep the SIM, can it be downgraded to less data for less cost after the first month?

Thanks for reading!

She just needs to call O2 and migrate her current number to the new sim.

You can give her the sim to use and she could change the payment details to her bank account in the billing section of her MyO2, however, it will remain in your name and you will be responsible for any payment defaults.

Cancelling the sim is an option but you would need to renegotiate the deal with Virgin as it will be discounted based on having the sim card.

Hi @MI5,

Thanks for that, I have no problem with being responsible for the payments, so I'm happy that this is an option.  My next question is how would this be transferred to her and allow her to retain her number, given she is already with O2.

Appreciate your help

@bluebear See this guide: Migration & porting into O2 - O2 Community

When you call, make sure you won't be paying for two contracts.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
