Hi all,
I currently have an o2 contract on a sim only deal which expires April 2024. Ive been offered a TV package by Virgin Media who have offered a great deal on the TV with an o2 SIM card as an extra for 18 months. A friend of mine was in a similar situation and seems to believe o2 were happy to port his number across to the new sim, end his existing contract early and start afresh with the deal from Virgin. I believe however he was on an o2 refresh deal meaning he could leave at any point without penalty.
Basically am I right in thinking that I'll have to pay off the existing o2 contract to take my existing number over to the new contract which is frustratingly cheaper.

Yes you will need to pay off your existing contract before been allowed to migrate the number over. You will need to call o2 to do this.
All the details on how to do this can be found here Guide: Migration & porting into O2

Technically you should get the same broadband package keeping the SIM you have without any change. But the sales staff at Virgin Media don't get a good bonus that way.
I take it you are already getting Volt benefits on your present set up?

It is the same in the o2 shops as well, not just on the phone....
