Hi. Since porting to O2 I am unable to activate iMessage and FaceTime for my phone number. It worked up until the port was completed.
I have switched both off and restarted the device then switched back on but I get activation failure messages when I select my phone number. The number is registered on my Apple ID and phone. I have taken the sim out, signed out of my Apple ID, reset my network settings etc but to no avail. I have another O2 number and I can use that one ok, just not the one I ported.
anyone got any advice? I have just asked for a replacement SIM card to try that.

Perhaps a little too late to reply, but may be useful to someone else. I found this on another help forum and the 'network reset' instructions finally worked for me. Though seem to recall I had to 'tinker 'with some settings afterwards.😕
Turn OFF iMessage (Settings > Messages).
Turn your phone OFF for at least 10 minutes.
Turn your phone ON and tap Settings > Phone >
My Number and confirm that it is correct.
If it’s not correct, please enter the correct number.
Turn iMessage back to ON (Settings > Messages).
Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send &
Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under “Start new conversations from:”.
If that fails, try doing a Network Reset as follows (applies to iOS 15+):
Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Doing this will delete any saved Wi-Fi networks and their passwords you have joined.

Hi, I also seem to be having the same issues unable to activate iMessage or FaceTime after porting from EE to O2. Have tried everything the advisors have suggested over the phone with no joy. Could someone look into the account to see if everything has been ported over correctly please? @O2Sarah @O2Lisa @O2Georgina

Hi, I'm having the exact same issue as the above. Have just ported from EE to O2 but am unable to activate iMessage and Facetime. Just says waiting for activation.

Hi. I recently ported 2 numbers from EE to O2 pay monthly.
One activated imessage and facetime perfectly fine.
The other will not activate and is stuck on activation unsuccessful for iMessage and FaceTime. I have tried all the troubleshooting on every forum and spoke to Apple. Nothing has resolved it. Gives the error iMessage activation. An error occured during activation. Try again.'
I tried to remove the O2 sim and try activating and it would be on waiting for activation, but as soon as i put the sim in , goes to unsuccessful so defo the network causing the issue. The number in 'Phone' is correct and i have tried removing adding it on my iCloud, signing in out. reset network settings everything under the sun!
Not sure why one line (ending in 707) activated straight away but the other (ending in 917) will not.
Can you please help as I use iMessage as my main comms! Thank you.
