Hi. Since a transfer of ownership has happened where my old number has transferred to my new sim only account, I am unable to use iMessage and FaceTime without it saying there was an activation error.
I have switched both off and restarted the device then switched back on but I get activation failure messages when I select my phone number. I have also reset network settings, changed the number on the phone section and I have taken the sim out, signed out of my Apple ID etc but nothing seems to have changed, and I am starting to get really annoyed.
I just wondered if anyone could help me, it seems to be as a result of the sim as iMessage worked fine prior to my old number being transferred.
Many thanks

I've got the same issue tried all the steps Apple suggest and it doesn't work so clearly an issue with O2.
I ported into O2 yesterday and it just refuses to activate iMessage on the pay monthly esim in the phone. No other SIM I try (family SIMs on other networks) have this issue and bizarrely I have an old O2 PAYG SIM that works fine for activating iMessage on the same device so it is either a SIM issue or a problem with O2 porting the number in. If it isn't resolved this week I will have to cancel in the 14 days as I am not going without iMessage.
