I have an O2 PAYG sim in a GSM auto-dialler connected to an alarm system. The signal strength is usually 4 out of possible 5, so ok. However, occasionally, the auto-dialler stops communicating and I have to reset the sim by disconnecting the auto-dialler from the alarm power supply and removing and replacing the sim. Not sure if it's the network coverage, sim card or the auto-dialler that's the cause. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Usually a sim card either works or doesn't. It would be unusual for one to be faulty as you describe, however, you can get a free replacement in any O2 store to see if it is the sim that is faulty.
However, I would more likely suspect the auto dialler to be at faut here.
