Port Not Completed - 5 weeks in

Hi there,

I ported my number from Vodafone to O2, after being with them for 7 years on pay monthly contracts. The idea was to move to a Pay as You go, save some money and get better service. What I now realise was a mistake.

The PAC was requested and submitted on the 7th April. The number was deactivated on the 8th and the port was supposed to be completed on the 9th (according to O2).

It is now 5 and a bit weeks later, endless calls with O2 and back and forth on Twitter, which has yielded no results. I'm at wits end with this. Every call is the same: "we will resolve this within 24 hours"; "we guarantee you will have your number in 24 hours"; "our back end team is on it";"we have set a reminder to make sure this is done ASAP".

All amounting to nothing.

Bottom line is the number was claimed from Vodafone, for which Vodafone has a port confirmation number to show for, and my contract with them is settled. The number however, is somewhere in between, deactivated.

This number is tied to my work, my HMRC, home and car insurance and a myriad of two-factor authentications, from my emails to my bank! Bottom line is I am locked out of my life while O2 hold this number hostage and no one seems to do anything or even follow up, and provide a concrete resolution window.

I genuinely do not know what to do - do I have to go to Ofcom, Ombudsman? Who can get my number back. It's all I care for.

Has anyone experienced something similar and if so, what did you do?

Thanks

Agustin

See if are Forum Manager can help as suggested.

Just to say that this is not unique.

However, moving from Vodafone contract to O2 PAYG is like moving from good car to a Reliant Robin..

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
