Hi,
my signal has been poor all week, My Father in Law passed away and most of my calls have gone straight to voicemail due to no signal and this has led to numerous problems, all my family are on O2 but after this we will be swapping when the contract is due,
bare minimum we should have a refund,

o2 dont guarantee a fault free network as per the terms and conditions, in fact no network does, so you will not get any refund for poor signal quality.
You can check for service outages in your local area by going to https://status.o2.co.uk or using the My Network App.
Also look at using WiFi Calling on your phones, this will use your broadband connection to make calls.
Before switching networks then I would recommend getting some PAYG sim cards and testing coverage in your local area, and be aware all networks suffer outages from time to time.

I been experiencing a poor phone signal for a while too in my area. I read somewhere here shows what improvements are being made to O2 network. Where can I find this information? Also what’s the best way to report phone signal issues?

The best way is to use the My Network App, as that goes straight to the Networks Team, who monitor the reports.
You can also check https://status.o2.co.uk

Wifi calling explained here https://www.o2.co.uk/connectivity/wifi-and-4g-calling
You need a Wifi calling capable phone, Turn it on via My O2 and then contact O2 and ask them to activate it.
