I've had 2 pay monthly accounts for years, never had an issue with number porting. I just upgraded both phones with a 3rd party company as they were a lot cheaper. One phone had the number ported to Three, I stuck with O2 to ensure there would be no porting issues.
After being fobbed off by customer services they eventually raise the case to a manger, that was 5 days ago and nothing has happened. Rang again today to be told the number is stuck in the system with an error and technical will need to sort it, another 5 day wait!
This has been going on since 18th July!

All you can do is keep persevering with o2 customer services, as there is nothing we can do on this customer community, and there is no o2 support here.
It will be in a queue with o2 IT to resolve, so its a case of just waiting for them I'm afraid..
