Hi,

I am posting this in the hope someone may have had this issue and been able to resolve it. It has been ongoing for me for months and is now causing a real issue.

My mobile is an iPhone 13 and I have been on this contract since 2023. Since some time in 2024 I stopped being able to receive Microsoft verification codes. I have a very vague recollection of a technical issue, possibly due to the porting of my number etc, after which point I could no longer gets Microsoft texts. This was not an issue then.

But it is now. My personal laptop had a fault, stopping the pin from working. The only way to get in is to verify my Microsoft...long story short. I really need to be able to receive those texts.

Please can someone help! I have tried all the usual routes, checking the blocked numbers etc. I can receive verification texts from every other company!

Thank you!

Probably best to speak to MS if all others are getting through.

See if they can provide a different method

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi MI5,

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately MS can't do anything. I only have that verification method set up and they run a "fully autonomous" system whereby they can't reset anything. You have to wait 30 days for anything to be changed. And then another 30 days after that for the next step, its ludicrous!

It seems to be that their number is being blocked. I had issues after moving from EE to O2. So I am hoping O2 might be more helpful!

Thanks

This is a know MS issue where the number used to send the messages gets reported as spam by idiots in the UK, they can do things, you just need to get past the automated rubbish here
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/

i would also suggest using a 3rd party or Microsoft's Authenticator App, rather than insecure SMS OTP's

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company
