I've had a 2 on my messages app since the account was taken over from virgin mobile. I thought it would be fixed once I got a new phone but it's still there so I presume it's a SIM/account issue?

Any help appreciated

Try force closing the app and clearing cache and data.

Have you tried uninstalling the app, restarting your 'phone and then reinstalling the app ?

Depending on which phone you have, alternative messaging apps may be available from the app store to try to see if the issue persists.

If so, it would suggest that you do have unread messages that need opening.
