I was already an O2 customer but I installed my new O2 sim card last night. This has resulted in me having a new phone number when I had stated I wanted to keep my original number.
I had called 202 an hour ago and eventually spoke with someone. She explained that she must transfer me to another dept. to cancel my temporary number before she could activate my original number, but unfortunately I was cut-off by you while waiting for an answer the second time. No-one has tried to call me back!
My temp. number that I do not accept - (REMOVED)
I need to have this corrected urgently as I'm expecting a call on my original number very soon.

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this
Thanks

Your number should still be working on your old sim from your previous provider @BrianJ , and you will get a text to it confirming the date of the number move (once o2 process the PAC correctly).
Apologies, just re-read your post @BrianJ
As you are moving from 1 o2 sim to another, you need to MIGRATE your number - per the guide already given.
But your old number should still work on your old sim?
