I am holidaying on IOM, I’ve received a welcome text message from O2 but I simply cannot connect to a network.
I cannot use mobile data despite my phone settings showing g that I am.
is there anything I can do as I need to make and receive calls.

Some things to try
Search for another network
Reboot your phone
If you have an iPhone, change your data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk"
If none of the above works, you need to contact O2 and ask them to remove any roaming bars on your account
