Last time I went to Lanzarote data only worked with hotel wi-fi. Calls and texts were ok. I have seen other people earlier saying Idata needs to be turned on by o2. Is this still a thing? I am going to Lanzarote again and need to be prepared.

That's true, although you can change yourself to mobile.o2.co.uk if your phone isn't working with iData.

idata if you only use an iPhone is still a thing, however if you switch between Android and iPhones you need to change the APN to mobile.o2.co.uk
No harm in whilst abroad changing it if things dont work

Tried to call 202 to enquire about idata but chatbot did not understand and sent text about data bundle. Unable to speak with real person? Do I need idata to use iphone abroad?
