Data Roaming issue in USA

I'm currently on holiday in the US and have just upgraded my tariff to allow roaming in the US within my contract.

However, while I do get a mobile signal here (TMobile) it seems to be calls only - no data. I've made sure my data roaming is on and have been through every setting I can think of but nothing seems to work!

A few hours of Googling the problem hasn't given me a solution either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

(Current device is a OnePlus 9 Pro on Android 12)

@Paul_deC

You need to contact O2 to make sure there is no roaming bar on your account.

Numbers are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Or via social media...

If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.

There are problems with data in the US. Many people find it easier to buy a local sim (T Mobile or AT&T)

@Paul_deC You aren't going to get great speeds anyway, but it's possible that O2 needs to enable roaming on your account from their end.

You can call customer service for free from your phone on +44 7860 980 202

You can also reach O2 via social media:
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB), Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW), or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

Best time would be 8am UK time

If you're going to be in the US for any length of time and you need faster data, you'd probably be better off getting a Pay & Go sim from AT&T or T-Mobile.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Check if you can cancel the upgrade ASAP.

use the saving to get a local SIM.

Good advice, but on a post from back in April @TheBigTea

And O2 Roaming in the US is throttled to 0.5Mbps, practically useless for anything other than e-mail, yes.
