I've put my physical nano SIM from my old phone in a new iPhone 16 with iOS 18.
This is all working fine without issue.
I then tried the "Convert to eSIM" in the iPhone 16 settings, but this fails with this error:
So I was wondering if anyone else had tries this convert process, or if I need to request a QR code from an O2 store instead (which I guess I add via the "Add eSIM" option on the phone)?
That said, I've just read a few people here struggling with eSIMs so I'm wondering if I'm better off sticking with a physical SIM and ask that no-one steals my phone and takes the SIM out?

@biscuits99 - probably better off sticking with a conventional SIM as your main number in your phone, based on the hassle people have on O2 with upgrades where eSIM appears in the picture.
If your phone is stolen, the phone and SIM are blocked by O2 - provided you follow the guidance for such an event: Guide: Lost or Stolen O2 Device? - How to Report it

If you do decide that you want an esim, you sim swap and install in your MyO2.

Thanks, I'm certainly considering playing safe and not risking an eSIM until I see more positive experiences.

Thanks. This is what I see on that screen
So I'd go in a store and request an eSIM, then it should appear there?

Yes @biscuits99
