Hi there.

I am unable to send a text message but can receive them, I can recieve and can also make/receive phone calls.  When I try to send a text, I get 'error 50'. Can anyone help me?

I have a Huawei P30.  Recently I lost my phone.  I have also been sent two SIM cards from O2, both of which I have had this error.  I have been able to send texts through another O2 sim card from this phone.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Check the tips here Guide: Text Message Tips (not sent or received)

It is also worth calling customer service to check if the bars have been lifted from your account which were applied if you reported your phone lost.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks for the reply.

I have been on the phone with O2, they have said that they have lifted the restrictions.  I just thought it was odd that I could make/send phone calls and receive texts but am unable to send them.

I have done countless experiments to fix this problem - deleted the cache, contacts, unticked/ticked boxes, numerous restarts, googling, voodoo..etc.

I'd ask them to check for bars again.

They usually apply 2 bars, one on phone and one on the account.
