Calls dropping out after a few seconds

Hi. Not sure if I'm in the right place or not but up until recently I had an iPhone 12 and while making and receiving calls, the call would drop out for around 10 seconds and then kick back in again. I thought this was due to the phone so upgraded 2 weeks ago to iPhone 14 but it's still happening on pretty much every call.

I have spoken with friends who are on O2 and it happens to them as well.

My parents recently had a Virgin engineer at their house to install some new equipment and he mentioned that it was happening to him because O2 had moved to different suppliers but didn't use the same one for everyone so if you were on one side of the new system you were fine, but if you were on the other, you had this call dropping out problem.

Does anyone else have this problem or know anything about it?

@Smurf no need to keep posting the same thing..

Are you a Virgin Mobile customer, as if you are then everyone has been moved to o2, and as an o2 customer for many years I havent suffered the dropping of calls across either my work sim or personal sim recently.

It might be worth having a look at these pages:

Guide: How can I sort out my network issues?

Guide: Is the network down for me or everyone?

and look at https://status.o2.co.uk

Also you might be worth speaking to Virgin Customer Services on 789 or 0345 454 1111

Hi thanks for the reply. I posted the same thing in two different topics because I wasn’t sure what was best.

No, I’m not a Virgin customer, I’m an O2 customer and have been for years.

Thanks for the suggestions though

Maybe @O2Emma can help?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
